Boarding

Oak Park Veterinary Clinic is happy to offer a comfortable, safe and caring place for your pet to board while you are away. We have a choice of small, cozy cages up to full size runs. Our indoor boarding facility is designed for the maximum comfort of your pet. We have separate dog and cat rooms, both are centrally heated and air conditioned. Guests at our clinic are fed Science Diet or you are welcome to bring food from home to feed your pet (at no extra cost).

Your pet’s room is cleaned twice daily and checked throughout the day. We provide clean, comfortable bedding which is washed daily for sanitary purposes. Dogs are walked outside a minimun of 3 times a day, while our feline guests enjoy some personal attention from our caring staff during cleaning time. Each animal is carefully checked numerous times daily for general behavior, eating habits, activity level, elimination and attitude by our experienced staff. If any health problem is noted, our Dr. Strickland is informed immediately and your pet will treated.

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES/ILLNESS: Due to changes in diet, routine and being taken out of their home environment, some pets can experience some illnesses such as diarrhea while boarding. Dr. Strickland will be able to address these issues quickly and we will make every attempt to inform you of any issues at the emergency number provided. Fees for medical treatment or diagnostic testing will be the responsibility of the owner.

VACCINATIONS: Current vaccinations are necessary for the protection of all pets boarding. Required vaccinations for dogs include Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. Required vaccinations for cats include Rabies and FVRCP. While we do not require recent fecal exams or deworming, any per that is diagnosed with intestinal parasites or fleas will be treated at the owner’s expense. If your pet requires vaccinations, Dr. Strickland will be happy to administer an annual exam and vaccinations on the first day of boarding.
